How to Install Lightroom Presets

Are you looking to take your photo editing skills to the next level? One way to enhance your editing process in Adobe Lightroom is by using presets. Installing presets in Lightroom is a simple process that can greatly expand your editing capabilities. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you get started:

How to install presets in Lightroom Mobile

METHOD 1 (requires Lightroom desktop)

If you have Lightroom for desktop, this is going to be the easiest and quickest way to get your presets installed onto your mobile device.

  • Step 1: Follow the guide above to install your presets to Lightroom CC
  • Step 2: Allow a few minutes for the presets to sync to the cloud (make sure you are connected to the internet)

Your presets will now be available on Lightroom Mobile!

METHOD 2 - DNG Files

If you do not have Lightroom for desktop, there is one other way to import custom presets into Lightroom Mobile. IMPORTANT: Make sure the pack you plan on getting has DNG files (or says compatible with Lightroom Mobile on the product page) such as my "Washed Out" preset pack!

  • Step 1: Download your new preset pack and extract the zip folder on your mobile device
  • Step 2: Save the DNG files (these will look like images) to your device
  • Step 3: Open Lightroom Mobile
  • Step 4: To save each preset, add the DNG file (image from your device) onto Lightroom Mobile from the device tab as if you were going to edit the photo
  • Step 5: Go to the presets tab and click on the 3 dots in the top right corner
  • Step 6: Click "create preset" and save the settings as they are on the image

Your presets will now be available on Lightroom Mobile!
